Position Description: The Regional STEM Achievement Manager will build instructional staff capacity and elevate student achievement in math and science across the region, working with three Rocketship schools in the DC area. Reporting to the VP of Schools in DC, with support from the National Program Team.
Essential Responsibilities:
Design
- Collaborate with regional and national content teams to create and facilitate professional development aligned with Eureka Math, Amplify Science, and Bridges Math Intervention.
- Personalize resources for the regional context, including videos, professional development, skill labs, scope and sequence, and data analysis tools aligned with standards.
- Develop expertise in regional assessments to ensure instructional resources align with assessment standards.
Coaching
- Work with the VP of Schools and content teams to identify and prioritize high-impact areas for skill building.
- Coach teachers and school leaders in priority areas such as math and science instruction and intervention.
- Provide ongoing coaching and professional development to build capacity and skills.
- Support classroom observations and provide feedback.
- Partner with content teams for additional professional development.
- Motivate and influence others to act on regional priorities.
Data-Driven Leadership & Planning
- Assess implementation effectiveness and identify instructional levers for growth.
- Support assessment execution and data analysis.
- Coordinate with the Network Support Team to ensure alignment and resource knowledge.
- Monitor and report on progress across schools.
Supplemental Responsibilities
- Monitor compliance with accountability requirements and communicate with agencies.
- Support initiatives to improve student outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years classroom teaching with proven student achievement results.
- Minimum 3 years school leadership experience preferred.
- Expertise in Common Core Standards.
- Deep knowledge of elementary STEM instruction, with familiarity with Eureka Math and Amplify Science preferred.
- Experience designing professional development at scale.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to engage diverse stakeholders and prioritize organizational needs.
- Adaptability, ownership, and alignment with Rocketship’s mission.
Physical Demands:
Regular talking, hearing, communication, handling objects, standing, walking, sitting, reaching, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders. Vision and noise level requirements are specified.
