LVI is partnered with a structural engineering consulting firm based in DC, in search of a Structural Design Engineer who’s passionate about innovation and ready to dive into projects ranging from multi-story construction, residential to restoration projects. This firm thrives on solving unique engineering problems—whether it’s designing over and around existing buildings or delivering state-of-the-art solutions using both hand-drawn sketches and advanced BIM technology. Our client offers exciting opportunities to work on innovative solutions for both new and existing buildings. Each day, you’ll collaborate with a talented team to tackle diverse structural projects, including:
- Residential, government, and public/private buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the design and analysis of structural systems for a variety of project types.
- Work with hand-drawn sketches, cutting-edge software, and BIM technology to produce innovative solutions.
- Assist in envelope design, restoration projects, and construction phase services.
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Perform reviews of existing facilities to propose upgrades and replacements, and present findings and recommendations to clients and peers.
- You will perform structural analysis and detailed design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment, and foundations.
- Develop integrated structural designs and perform supporting calculations for the planned work.
- You will have direct interface with the client and communicate technical information.
What We’re Looking For:
- A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- PE license.
- Passion for problem-solving and hands-on project involvement.
- Desire to gain diverse experience in structural engineering, including restoration and envelope design.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
