Ground-Up Construction Superintendent
Austin, TX | Up to $140K + 8–12% Bonus | Travel up to 50+ miles
We're hiring a Ground-Up Superintendent to lead full-cycle commercial construction projects throughout Austin and surrounding areas. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in the field, can juggle all the moving parts of a jobsite, and keeps projects on time, on budget, and in scope.
What You'll Be Doing
You’ll be the key leader on-site responsible for managing all field operations for new commercial builds. Projects range from dirt work to full completion, including tilt-wall, light industrial, warehouse, and retail. You’ll be expected to:
- Run the day-to-day field operations of ground-up projects
- Coordinate all trades, vendors, deliveries, and inspections
- Hold subcontractors accountable for safety, quality, and schedule
- Conduct daily jobsite walks and enforce safety protocols
- Track progress and manage scheduling updates with the project team
- Communicate jobsite changes (RFIs, field adjustments, and change orders)
- Maintain a clean, organized site that reflects a professional image
- Lead onsite meetings with subcontractors and internal staff
- Handle onsite challenges and proactively resolve issues before they impact progress
- Ensure project milestones and deadlines are met
- Supervise and mentor Assistant Superintendents or Site Coordinators when assigned
What You Bring
- 5+ years as a Superintendent in ground-up commercial construction
- Experience with all major trades and sequencing of work
- Strong scheduling and leadership skills
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and schedules
- Confidence to manage jobs independently while collaborating with PMs and office staff
- Clean driving record and reliable transportation (required for site travel)
- Comfortable with construction tech (Procore or similar)
