POSITION OVERVIEW:
Lead employees to ensure customer satisfaction by moving all shipments on time and damage-free.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead, manage, educate, and develop company employees, focusing on retention and growth.
- Supervise and direct employee work, including pre-shifts, emphasizing quality, customer service, and safety, and oversee improvements.
- Actively monitor, record, and educate employees on unsafe acts/conditions; correct immediately using corrective actions as needed; provide feedback and follow-up.
- Plan daily manpower needs and set schedules to ensure timely and damage-free delivery and pickup of freight.
- Communicate job assignments clearly and coordinate with all employees.
- Monitor service freight and ensure compliance with cut time standards.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency while maintaining safety standards.
- Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information, and appointment setting.
- Monitor performance data and gather information for reporting.
- Build positive relationships and communication with all business partners to meet service standards.
- Identify freight with incorrect weight or classification.
- Ensure all OS&D (Overages, Shortages, Damages) are identified and processed properly.
- Perform administrative functions as required.
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of LTL industry, DOT rules, OSHA laws, hazardous materials regulations, NMFC, tariff rules, and company policies preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational skills and multi-tasking ability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet use.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, noise.
- Hours may vary based on operational needs.
- Frequent contact with service center personnel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
