TMB, Inc has an exciting opportunity for a Surface Ship Modernization & Sustainment Acquisition Professional to support the Director of Surface Ship Maintenance, Modernization and Sustainment (SEA 21) in the Team Ships Front Office (TSFO).
Responsibilities
- The contractor shall provide on-demand timely professional support services to the Flag Officer and Executive Director in the office of SEA 21.
- Provide SEA 21 Leadership with knowledge management, strategic planning, brief development, action tracking, and communication support, including messaging, configuration control, and database management.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders via working groups, program development forums, and analytical activities. Progress client needs and deliverables into intelligent and actionable products. Understand the objectives of SEA 21 and assist with their accomplishment, including addressing barriers to success.
- Support short and long-term tasking from SEA 21 Leadership, coordinating as necessary with stakeholders. Provide high-quality products such as communication strategies, briefs, point papers, and analysis for executive meetings and events.
- Identify challenges proactively. Participate in meetings, identify areas for improvement, and propose solutions. The scope may include developing strategic initiatives to improve business practices, data utilization, messaging, tasker responses, and technical/program execution processes.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree and at least 20 years of experience.
- Prior Surface Warfare Officer/Engineering Duty Officer experience with Navy afloat or ashore Command or Major Program Management, preferably with surface ship acquisition experience in maintenance, modernization, and sustainment. Knowledge of NAVSEA and its organization is required.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with an active DOD Secret security clearance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Expertise in Microsoft SharePoint, MS Teams, and related collaboration tools.
- Strong customer service skills, management experience, and the ability to prioritize rapidly changing tasks.
- Innovative, creative, poised, flexible, with strong analytic and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and in teams, with initiative to self-start with minimal guidance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging senior military and civilian leaders.
- Ability to interface regularly with internal and external customers, including scheduled and ad hoc meetings.
- Ability to travel reasonable distances (up to ½ mile one way).
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds to transport tools and equipment.
