YOUR FUTURE TEAM As part of the Office of the Executive Director, you would support management of the agency's day-to-day operations. See details about what we do. This position is a member of our External Relations Division. HERES WHAT YOULL BE DOING Plan, develop, prepare, and conduct research, presentations, and outreach for the Take Care of Texas program of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Research and develop outreach materials including blog articles, website content, newsletters, emails, publications, digital resources, fact sheets, video scripts, social media content, and related items. Identify effective distribution plans for materials and information. Provide outreach and assist with marketing the Take Care of Texas (TCOT) program to local governments, schools, nonprofit organizations, businesses, other state agencies, and the public. Conduct presentations for community and professional groups to promote and stimulate interest in the TCOT program. Exhibit at conferences and related events to increase participation and program awareness. Work with management to develop and implement the annual TCOT marketing plan. Contribute ideas to the annual content calendar. Qualifications: KEY QUALIFICATIONS Experience developing and implementing a marketing or outreach campaign. Experience with public speaking. Experience writing video scripts, blogs, and/or newsletters. REQUIRED EDUCATION EXPERIENCE A bachelors degree with a major in journalism, public relations, advertising, communications, English, or a natural resources or science related field, plus two years of full-time experience in writing, scripting, editing, related areas in communications, or in positions involving such activities as journalism, outreach, public relations, advertising, preparation of public information releases and reports, and other news materials, or performing related activities in a public or private enterprise. OR Three years of full-time experience in writing, scripting, editing, related areas in communications, or in positions involving such activities as journalism, outreach, public relations, advertising, preparation of public information releases and reports, and other news materials, or performing related activities in a public or private enterprise. CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within theInformation Specialist III state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in theInformation Specialist III series. Work Schedule Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ External Relations Division.
