Job Description
The Test Manager serves as a testing Subject Matter Expert and directs the execution of all testing to ensure the technical solution supports user requirements and system performance parameters. The Test Manager also directs or assists in the design of test plans in support of user requirements for complex software for IT systems. The Test Manager will engage in Independent Validation and Verification, system testing, integration, regression, automation, performance, user acceptance, security, and section 508 testing. Activities include determining testing strategies, writing test plans and scenarios, identifying loads and metrics, selecting protocols for scripting, conducting tests, collecting metrics, analyzing test results, and performing code reviews. The Test Manager may also assist with hardware/software investigation, analysis, and testing.
The Test Manager will supervise others.
Skills Required
- Expertise in testing requirements for agile lifecycle processes (e.g., IVM, Performance, UAT, Automation).
- Experience coordinating/executing test events with stakeholders and maintaining testing tools for manual, regression, and automated testing.
- Testing large-scale IT and database systems with languages like C++, Java, Go, Python, Ruby, C#, and PL/SQL.
- Knowledge of test simulators, automated test scenarios, and scripting.
- Ability to support testing across phases of SELC in an agile environment.
- Strong communication, supervision, teamwork, and technical skills.
- Experience with system, integration, regression, automation, and performance testing.
- Understanding of information security practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, test, and coordinate integration of new products based on client needs.
- Supervise testing of new and existing software products.
- Resolve software issues and suggest improvements.
- Review functional requirements and user stories.
- Design and support test automation solutions, including frameworks for functional and non-functional testing.
- Write and present technical solutions and ensure testing conclusions are supported by results.
- Manage technical delivery of testing services and document test plans, cases, and defects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or higher with 10+ years of related experience.
- Knowledge of Agile testing, CI/CD, DevSecOps, AWS, JIRA, Confluence, and programming languages such as Java, Go, Ruby, Python, C++, C#, XML, and PL/SQL.
- Certified Scrum Master required; SAFe and Kanban preferred.
- U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for DHS background investigation and clearance.
