How does this role contribute to our collective success?
AXIS is seeking a dynamic and experienced North America Intake & Underwriting Value Stream Lead to join our Business Technology Services (BTS) division, focusing on the end-to-end delivery of new and innovative underwriting solutions for lower middle market specialty lines, including automation using AI technology for data capture and decision making. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of insurance processes and technology delivered in a fast-paced Agile environment. The North America Intake & Underwriting Value Stream Lead will collaborate closely with Insurance senior leadership to translate their needs into actionable IT capabilities, ensuring value through Agile delivery practices and effective resource management.
What will you do in this role?
Oversee the health of the overall Value Stream, ensuring alignment with business goals, cost expectations, and benefits.
Create and maintain a comprehensive value stream roadmap in collaboration with business leadership.
Partner with product owners, release train engineers, and technical leads to deliver customer-facing features and enhance the system landscape.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, providing support to remove barriers and ensuring teams have necessary resources.
Partner with business leaders during annual planning and budgeting processes.
Manage and resolve risks and issues that impact release scope, schedule, and quality.
Coordinate work between diverse teams and locations throughout the value stream.
Negotiate, plan, and manage all activities within the value stream.
Foster Agile adoption and mentor Agile teams, ensuring continuous improvement in the intake and underwriting processes.
Measure and report on value stream performance metrics to ensure alignment with company goals.

Key Skills
History of progressive and successful IT delivery leadership roles
Experience working with senior stakeholders including Portfolio Leads and business / underwriting executives
Extensive working knowledge of the insurance domain, particularly in specialty insurance operations.
Proven experience with SDLC lifecycles and Agile delivery methodologies.
Background in designing, developing, and implementing IT systems within insurance operations, including experience in low / no-code platforms
Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting, and business operations.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
Exceptional organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders.
Ability to lead change initiatives and promote Agile practices across the organization.
