Warehouse Manager – Building Materials
Greater Seattle, WA
Our client, a leader in the Building Materials space supporting the construction and mechanical sectors, has engaged Lock Search Group’s Supply Chain team to assist in hiring a new Warehouse Manager for their Greater Seattle operation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, schedule, and conduct regular meetings with administration and warehouse staff to address customer concerns related to supply, shipment timeliness, and service issues.
- Coordinate order processing for internal and external customers.
- Negotiate freight rates in collaboration with the Traffic Manager.
- Oversee freight payables and ensure accuracy.
- Participate in distribution and operations team meetings as needed.
- Manage month-end cut-off activities.
- Collaborate with Production, Production Scheduler, and Purchasing Departments to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Work with Procurement to recommend inventory adjustments, advise on slow-moving products, and coordinate product allocation when necessary.
- Coordinate with Inventory Manager to perform cycle counts, spot inventory errors, and reconcile discrepancies.
Candidate Profile:
- 5-7 years of experience in a Warehouse Supervisor role; previous Warehouse Manager experience is a plus.
- Some college education in supply chain management is preferred.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to lead by example, delegate, and motivate the team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing seasonal peaks and off-season periods, with a sense of urgency during peak times.
- Strong time management skills and ability to multitask effectively.
- Ability to develop, plan, and implement short and long-term goals.
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail.
