I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.
The Writer-Reporter is supervised by the Senior Editor and is responsible for pitching, reporting and writing stories across platforms. The ideal candidate is an excellent writer and researcher, reporter and interviewer with sound news judgment and an enthusiastic team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment. They will be expected to write daily under tight deadlines and assist in developing sources and supporting long-term reporting initiatives. They will also be expected to work occasional nights and weekends to cover breaking news and events. The Writer-Reporter is a collaborative team player with strong knowledge of the digital landscape, including SEO, Discover and analytics. The writer-reporter should also be familiar with influencers and internet culture, including sourcing stories from social media platforms, and able to conduct interviews for longer-form features.

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
Education:
BA/BS degree, preferably in journalism or communications, related field or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years experience writing for a high volume, digital news operation.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proven ability to work independently.
- Strong writing and research skills and impeccable journalistic standards.
- Ability to respond quickly to breaking news.
- Strong reporting and interviewing skills and the ability to cultivate new sources
- Have a passion for the PEOPLE brand.
